Ramaria stricta

This beautiful fungus resembles branches of coral. It is found throughout North America. It grows on rotting wood, usually wood that is underground. It is very fragrant but not edible. It can grow up to 14cm tall.

Morchella family

Mushrooms in the morchella family, true morels, are prized for their deliciousness. They can be found all over the world. Its cap resembles a sponge. They can be found near the bottoms of trees. Black morels grow in larger quantities when a forest fire has occurred. Some interesting local names for these mushrooms include dryland fish, hickory chicken, merkels, and molly moochers. Some species of mushroom, known as false morels, mimic the appearance of the morel but are poisonous.

Floral Experiment

- This picture was taken deep in the wood’s at a local park. As a good friend of mine launched a large log off a small cliff, it fumbled through the air, with a thump accompanying it on impact; shattered, the log remained still.

A glimmering white essence was coming through, seeking life, it have revealed itself. Still a mystery, this floral experiment is unknown to me but was quite the sight to see.
